support iOS emoji
When working with the web app in iOS, entering an emoji character into a task name and clicking away crashes the page.
I use emoji in my current GTD app (RtM) and this is one of the last things stopping me from moving across to GTDNext compeletely.

add team collaboration option
to use GTDnext as a team tool would be fantastic, think you could pick up a lot of business users, assigning tasks and projects which are then automatically moved to the waiting for list would be the ultimate but could live with manually doing this if I had to too

Enter dates a la ToDoIst
Make entering dates easier -- a la ToDoist
I can make scheduling to ToDoist super easy: "Task name", tab (which brings my to date), "today" or "tomorrow" or "Monday" or "next week". I never have to touch my mouse or use slashes or hyphens. It's so easy to get items into ToDoist. I like GTDnext for other features, but dates can be improved11 votes -
Add a simple query capability
We have a weekly stand-up to report what work we have done over the last week. I forget half of what I have done, so it would be nice to be able to query all tasks done in a given date range.
This is a specific example, but a generic query facility would compliment what seems to be a pretty promising product.5 votes -
Easier entry in areas with no items
The outline view of GTDNext, that is so great, is all about simply pressing Enter and typing away.
But if I filter into an Area that are currently not containing any items, I cannot add a task directly, but have to shift to another view first and add at least one item, open the right pane and select the area from the dropdown. This is slow.
Ideally I could simply select an area, press Enter and start rolling.

Context One Click Feature
I propose that a feature be added to handle contexts that would solve some of the problems that currently exist with using "tags" feature for the purposes of applying GTD context to items.
I propose a feature that:
1. combines the one click assignment of the "focus" function with
2. the button functionality of the area filters, including the all important no area button.
3. If desired, icons for home or phone or computer could be selected for each context, instead of a red button for focus. Why do this? There are so many problems with the current system of…

Repeat all tasks in a project
i would like to set up a project for things that happen on a regular basis. It appears that you can do this for a single item.
However, I would like to apply this to all items within a project. This can be a pain to update if there are 50+ items in a single project.
I find this helpful for things like a Daily routine, or a "pre blog post" checklist, etc

Track estimated and actual time
When I do my daily review a really useful piece of data to have would be the estimated duration for actions. It would remove just a bit of friction from thinking about how long each action may take when I'm figuring out how much I can get done. Also, being able to loop back and enter the actual amount of time would be helpful for helping identify issues with my estimations in general as well as for reviewing if/when similar tasks arise in the future.

Actions inherit project due dates
I have a number of projects that have overall due dates attached to the project as a whole. I would like to have any "next action(s)" associated with them inherit that due date and be displayed in the Next Action view when the "due date" filter is applied.

Add buttons to indent/outdent (demote/promote) an entry in the action details panel
In the absence of an Android app (I see one will be developed), I have been using GTDnext via the Chrome browser on my Android tablet. The biggest challenge to this is the absence of a "tab" key on most Android keyboards. I have found a keyboard that features a "tab" key so I can indent an entry, however, I cannot find a way to enter the "shift" + "tab" command necessary to outdent an entry.
I think two added buttons on the action detail panel could alleviate this problem and seem to be a logical place to locate them.…

Hierarchical Areas
I use areas to categorize my actions and projects by area of responsibility e.g. Health, Work, Social, Recreational...
A better presentation of my areas, however, would be hierarchical. I have social commitments to my family and friends, I might want to see them separately or together. Same goes regarding work commitments relating to my clients vs my accountant; my different hobbies etc.
It would be convenient to:
- be able to organize my areas in a hierarchical way.
- associate actions/projects to any (one or more) area in the hierarchy (different scopes). A drag and drop of multiple actions/project to…9 votesAdminSergio (co-founder, GTD Next) respondedInteresting. We have thought about making Tags Hierarchical, but had not thought about it for Areas. We will think about it.
One thing I don’t think I agree with is having “Bills” be an Area as Jolygod gives as an example. That seems more like tag to me.
Areas are intended to be Areas of Focus in your life. So examples would be Work, Family, Side Business, Personal, Spiritual, etc.

Show only tags in use
Where tags are currently shown in top of the screen - just below the colored top bar - all available tags are shown.
I suggest only tags in use are being shown. That way i don't accidently filter by an unused tag thus helping me keep my overview.

Task Count
Would be great to see counts of the number of tasks in particular views. e.g. I'd like to be able to see at a glance that I have 16 tasks in the Next Action list.

Add Button -no tags- which will filter all tasks with no tags assigned
I use tags as contextes for cases when i'm not at my PC (eg, home, on errand, in bank). When I am near my PC I want to be able to get a filtered list of Next tasks where tags are not specified.
I think it should work the same way as -no area- button.31 votes
