Create an "Active Projects" list view
IMHO, I am unable to focus on and process my most important tasks/projects - my Active ones.
I can process my Inbox, my Scheduled, my Waiting, and My Someday tasks/projects by clicking on the respective list title in the navigation column. For the life of me, I can't understand why the one I would look at virtually every morning is not available - my Active ones.
Instead, I have to go to the broader Projects and Actions and sift through everything - even the stuff that right now doesn't matter. Yes, I can manually sort, but why do that if you already have a list tag we should be able to take advantage of? And if I'm actively adding things to my Inbox and processing them, I have to manually sort again and again and again.
Sorry, but this seems so basic. It's a borderline deal breaker. Without it, the app is too bulky and cumbersome to be used effectively.
Please, please, please! And thank you... ;-)
Thanks for the suggestion. In some ways the Next Action list is really what you want. It contains all of the next actions available for you to do right now. It’s where I go first thing when I want to start doing actual work.
Since this list contains all actions available for you to do right now, I’m not sure I completely understand the need for a list with all action on it. This is what the Projects and Actions view is for.
To make it easier to view just active actions, we did add an “active” filter to the P&A view. So this will filter out any scheduled, waiting or someday actions from the view. If the next action view isn’t exactly what you are looking for hopefully this will help.

If I understand the original poster, the requested feature is to identify higher-priority projects and to filter and show only those projects. E.g., I might have ten active projects, but I want to focus on only three of them this week. there should be a way to mark those three projects and filter a view that shows ONLY those three projects and tasks from them.
Hey James - I think you misunderstand Ken's request. I too would like an "Active Projects" list (since it appears I cannot add projects to my "Someday" folder.)
I like to be able to brain dump everything - including projects that are Someday/Maybe, then choose a handful that I am currently focused on. Having "Someday/Maybe" projects show up on the side bar with everything else, and in "Project" view mixed in with everything else is distracting. In "Project" view i can filter to show only "Active" projects, but the sidebar still shows all of them. It'd be nice to be able to add projects to the "Someday" section, and then have them NOT show up in my Projects/Actions list.
What (the heck) does does clicking the A "Filter Active Items" actually do? Doesn't it show just the Active projects?
Wait, I think clicking 'Filter Active Items' will only remove a project if *ALL* the Actions within it are Scheduled. This is bonkers because this means even though I want to schedule the entire project I cant unless I go through every single Action so as to Schedule it.
Nightmare. I'd call this a *BUG* ! No wonder I failed to understand how the entire Scheduling thing works!!
